Electric Toothbrushes
Oscillating-rotating electric toothbrushes have a small and round brush head (see the photo of Macy below holding the Oral B 2000). If you have this style of electric toothbrush follow these instructions:
Wet the toothbrush bristles with water and add toothpaste.
Place the toothbrush head into your mouth and turn the toothbrush on.
Hold the toothbrush head on each tooth for 5 seconds, lift off, then move to the next tooth.
Begin by brushing the top right teeth and then moving to brush the top left teeth. Then move on to brush the lower left teeth and finally brush the lower right teeth.
Turn the toothbrush as required to reach the outside, inside and top/chewing surfaces of the teeth.
After brushing, spit out the toothpaste foam but do not rinse your mouth with water. This lets the fluoride paste sit on the teeth for longer.
Note: be careful not to put too much pressure onto the toothbrush just lightly hold it on the tooth surface and always use a soft head (sensitive or extra sensitive for the Oral B 2000).
Electric toothbrush with a toothbrush “style” head (see below the photo of Macy).
Follow these instructions:
hold your brush at a 45-degree angle, just like you would with a manual toothbrush. Starting with the outside surfaces of your teeth gently guide the brush head slowly from tooth to tooth. Make sure you hold the brush head in place for a few seconds against each tooth before you move on to the next one.
When you have finished the outer surfaces of your teeth repeat on the inside surfaces, and then again on the chewing surfaces of your teeth. Don’t forget to brush behind your back teeth.
Finally, use your brush to gently clean your tongue, for a full mouth clean
